Welcome to Swissartexpo
Talented artists, great vibes. A life changing event.
"Art pleases one, or not, but any work of art viewed with respect expands the mind! In this sense, welcome to SWISSARTEXPO!" Patricia Zenklusen, Artist and Founder Swissartexpo
A giant "Nana" in the shape of a guardian angel watches over the artists at Swissartexpo in the main hall of Zurich's main train station.
Initially, the French artist Niki de Saint Phalle (1930 - 2002) was ridiculed for her Nanas, but she soon became world famous. Her voluminous "Nanas" stand for lively, liberated and self-confident women. That her angel is a woman with feminine forms was natural for her. "...Female angels offer more protection, like a mother," was the artist's conviction.
The founder and guardian angel of Swissartexpo is Patricia Zenklusen, who creates filigree beach girls with a chainsaw - the complete antithesis of Nikki's Nanas. The Swiss artist's wooden sculptures have been presented at numerous exhibitions in Berlin, San Diego, Miami, Expo Milano and New York.
Patricia is also a pioneer in the field of art events: she refreshes the art world with innovative and unconventional ideas - and is extremely successful with them.
At Swissartexpo she creates an appealing connection between different art styles, people and cultures. The exhibitions focus on promoting up-and-coming artists and attract thousands of visitors every year.
Sarah Montani was showing one Oilpainting and two Sculptures made out of Wax, Shellack on Woods in 2021. In 2022, she was the frist artist to show Augmented Reality Art at Swissartexpo in 2022. An unconventional link between a 3000 year old technique and the future.
“I am committed to liveliness in art. Old painting techniques like encaustic touch me and put me in the flow. I take the liberty to modernize these techniques and bring art into the future. It's nice to time travel in this sense. My AR art is free, anyone can take it and create art with it themselves. In this sense, I am committed to open art that invites you to play.”, says Sarah Montani.
