The Future of Art Experience: Sarah Montani's World Expo+ Redefines the Museum Experience Globally

Experience the captivating exhibition of the sculptures of Sarah Montani across over 30 prestigious museums worldwide. This groundbreaking showcase marks the first-ever simultaneous sculpture exhibition in the most renowned art institutions. At times, we present distinct sculptures in each museum, while on other occasions, we feature the same artwork synchronously across all museums.

This pioneering project offers a glimpse into the potential future of art.

How does it work? How did we do it? Digital pioneer Sarah Montani, in co-creation with Joël Herde of the innovative company Futurise in Switzerland, has developed this technology: AR art "appears" in front of and inside museums and can be perceived through the lens of a smartphone camera. These artworks are exclusively accessible in the world's largest museums, thanks to the latest technology (GEO AR), within a radius of 50 - 100 meters on museum grounds.

AR art is three-dimensional, untouchable, odorless and weightless. This new art form is a phenomenon that cannot be adequately described with words: the fascination arises from experiencing it, from trying it out, and seeing it with one's own eyes.

It is the world's first art project to exhibit AR art in museums and make it available without application.

Augmented reality redefines how artists engage with other artists, as well as art collectors and enthusiasts.

Why?

Only 10% of artworks in museums worldwide are created by women, with men dominating the remaining 90%. Despite museums being mostly funded by taxes, they predominantly purchase art from male artists, neglecting the contributions of the other half of humanity. To address this oversight, we have decided to place our statues in over 30 renowned museums globally, representing the forgotten women who have been overlooked by curators, history and society.

World Expo+: Sarah Montani's Groundbreaking AR Sculpture Exhibition Redefines Museum Experience Globally

Sarah Montani, a visionary swiss artist, has launched an unprecedented art project titled "World Expo+." This exhibition showcases augmented reality (AR) sculptures across over 30 prestigious museums worldwide, revolutionizing the way art is perceived and experienced. By blending technology with creativity, World Expo+ aims to challenge the gender imbalance in art representation and provide a platform for overlooked and invisible women artists.

World Expo+ introduces a unique concept by seamlessly integrating AR sculptures into the physical spaces of renowned museums. Visitors can witness the exhibition by simply using their smartphones. No application is needed. Through the lens of their devices, spectators will encounter three-dimensional, untouchable, odorless, and weightless artworks that appear in front of and inside the museums. This fusion of art and technology offers an unparalleled sensory experience that must be seen to be fully appreciated.

One of the primary motivations behind World Expo+ is to address the pervasive gender disparity in the art world. Statistics reveal that only 10% of artworks in museums worldwide are created by women, with the remaining 90% dominated by male artists. Despite museums often being funded by taxes, they predominantly acquire art from male creators, neglecting the contributions of women artists. This exhibition aims to shine a spotlight on the forgotten women who have been overlooked by curators, history, and society at large.

The collaboration between Sarah Montani and Joël Herde has resulted in the development of cutting-edge AR technology known as GEO AR. This advancement allows AR sculptures to be exclusively accessible within a radius of 50-100 meters on the grounds of the world's largest museums. As visitors move through the spaces, they will encounter unique digital art pieces that blend seamlessly with their physical surroundings, providing a mesmerizing and immersive encounter with art.

World Expo+ spans across prestigious museums in various countries, including the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art in Cape Town, the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, the Centre George Pompidou in Paris, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and many more. The complete list of museums can be found on Instagram (@sarahmontani), with new photos and updates added regularly.

Sarah Montani, the driving force behind World Expo+, stated, "Through this innovative project, we aim to challenge the traditional norms of the art world, amplify the voices of women artists, and revolutionize how art is experienced in museums globally. World Expo+ not only provides an accessible platform for underrepresented artists but also offers visitors a fresh perspective on the intersection of art and technology."

Access to the AR artworks featured in World Expo+ is effortless and free of charge. Visitors can simply use their smartphones to view and engage with the sculptures within the museums, without the need for any additional applications.

World Expo+ is an journey into the future of art, bridging the gap between the physical and the digital realms. This pioneering exhibition promises to redefine the relationship between artists, collectors, and enthusiasts, inviting them to explore art through a new lens.
