How it works

AR art ' appears ' in our familiar physical environment, but we can only perceive it through the eye of our smartphone camera. AR art is three-dimensional, non-touchable, odorless and weightless. It can be visualized in any place: on the water, among the clouds, in fragrant treetops. With two fingers, the artworks can be enlarged, we can even enter them or take them to any place.

Immerse yourself in the world of sferistic art - movement around the clock…and around the globe

All you need: a smartphone and daylight

After choosing your schedule, press the bottom button [AR] below the 3D Metasfere to visualize. No app needed. Just enjoy the 3-D Sphere that is visible now.

The metasferes are accessible from 9 o'clock in the morning. Another one is activated at every full hour.

"Augmented reality art asks us to awaken. It reminds us that there is something other than our individual perception of reality. In the real world, we are sleepwalkers who don't know they are asleep."

Sarah Montani

"The particular aesthetic of augmented reality art stems from the appearance that the virtual art and the physically real environment exist in the same space. It’s like we ask ourselves if we exist, if we are here."

Sarah Montani

"My art moves between two poles: the tangible world where we can smell, taste and look in each others eyes, and the virtual reality where we can't (yet)."

Sarah Montani

“Augmented Reality lies between two poles - the tangible world and virtual reality. We never are only in one or the other reality. Our mind lives in an infinite number of realities.”

Sarah Montani

"With augmented reality, we can experience virtual art in real space, play with it - and even walk through it."

Sarah Montani

“Augmented reality is a challenge to our perception. It challenges our
understanding of reality.”

Sarah Montani

“When viewing the spheres, we remain in the normal, familiar reality. Our
environment is simply enriched by the virtual sphere. AR enriches our reality
instead of replacing it.”

Sarah Montani

“AR Art can be placed in the physical-real world in its original size - or enlarged
and reduced - at any possible and impossible place. We can rotate the artwork,
move around it, or even enter it with our whole body. An omnidirectional effect is
created.”

Sarah Montani

“You can walk into the Sphere, or at least it feels like it. The boundary is your
smartphone camera. Where is the boundary between your body and the artwork?
This boundary dissolves.”
